governance ZIL
gZIL
Governance ZIL (gZIL) is the Zilliqa network governance token, and it enables long-term token holders to participate in the Zilliqa ecosystem. Every gZIL represents one vote, and the more you hold, the more voting power you have. Zilliqa token holders can buy and hold gZIL to propose and vote on network changes, which helps maintain gZIL's value.gZIL was launched on 14 October 2020 and was minted for roughly one year to reward early adopters and incentivise long-term token holders. The token derives part of its value from scarcity and stopped minting on block # 1483713. Users can get gZIL on centralised exchanges such as Liquid.com and CEX.io or the decentralised exchange operating at ZilSwap.io.
